Greville Commins

Greville Commins is non-executive Director at ProVision Communications. Greville brings to ProVision a strong technical background, a broad range of marketing and business development experience coupled with an international experience base and more than 10 years at Director level.

Greville began his business career by founding a start-up computer systems company in the early 1980s and followed this with 5 years in Intel Systems product marketing. Joining ST Microelectronics in 1990 he marketed ST silicon and software product technologies in a wide range of market sectors. He worked in Silicon Valley for 5 years as Operations Director. On return from the USA in 2001, Greville was appointed Marketing Director dealing with IP companies, sourcing IP and technology for future ST products.

Greville today supports Bristol and Bath Incubation Centres in a business mentoring role, He also teaches Enterprise to Computer Science students in University of Bristol and International Negotiations in the University West of England Business School. In March 2007 he formed his own company, Varoom Ltd, providing mentoring and coaching support to early stage technology enterprises.

Greville has sector experience in computer systems, digital content, electronics, software services, digital consumer products, Set Top Box, DVD, TV and digital cameras. His experience is international, with business dealings throughout USA, Europe, Japan and China.
